Which
article index to use depends upon your topic.
1. General Article Indexes
- Is
your topic general or cross-disciplinary?
- Currently
in the news?
If so, start
with one of the general article indexes. These cover a wide range
of subjects and often index a mixture of popular
and scholarly sources. This is often a good place to
begin research. Examples of general indexes and the kinds of articles
they identify are:

Indexes journals covering the social sciences, humanities, education, computer science, ethnic studies and more. Provides full-text articles from more than 3,200 scholarly periodicals. |

Abstracts and indexing for over 4,000 periodicals in many subjects. Full-text for over 2,000 periodicals. |
